Third Party Trials - Data Farming
🔬 FarmLink is partnering with Data Farming as part of a GRDC-funded research project exploring how satellite technology can support smarter crop disease management.
The project is developing practical tools to help growers and agronomists identify disease risk earlier and target scouting efforts more effectively using satellite imagery, weather data and advanced sensing technology.
As part of the project, FarmLink will host third-party trials focused on key foliar diseases in wheat and barley, including rust, septoria, net blotches and scald.
The trials will compare sprayed and unsprayed treatments under irrigated conditions to promote disease outbreaks, helping researchers better understand disease development and improve future detection systems.
Data Farming will undertake disease monitoring, satellite analysis and UAV flights, while the trials provide valuable local insight into how emerging technology could support more targeted disease management decisions on-farm.
