The day commenced with guest speaker Mr John Woods, GRDC Chairman who announced a $1.8 million infrastructure grant to help to drought proof field trials for cereals, oilseeds and pulses in southern New South Wales, underpinning investment in research, development and extension (RD&E) in the region.
Once again, FarmLink had great support from our partners in delivering the Open Day. All meals, drinks and entertainment were included in the entry fee. FarmLink partner Avant Agri provided morning tea, CommBank supplied soft drinks during the day, Pulse Australia sponsored a ‘Lentil Lunch’ and AGT again hosted the Open Day cut out with refreshments at the end of the day. Riverina LLS sponsored the Soils theme and provided a pH test kit for participants to be able to take home to start to get a handle on the pH conditions of their own soil. Grain Growers hosted the Agricultural Technology theme and Commonwealth Bank hosted our Ladies Tour. Dow Seeds gave away 2 tonnes of seed as a door prize! Other partners hosted trade displays, while a large array of farm machinery was on display with our partners Hutcheon and Pearce, Intersales and Temora Truck and Tractor all having displays on site.
