Tallimba – Baking Quality Trial
Aim: To see if nitrogen from legume fixation is different to synthetically applied nitrogen when testing the baking quality of wheat for bread making.
2023: A vetch trial to leave different levels of residual N for the following season. Treatments are vetch brown manure, vetch hay and vetch grain.
2024: Wheat and canola will be grown in rotation on each vetch treatment. Wheat grain will be tested for baking quality
2025: Wheat and canola will be grown in rotation on each vetch treatment. Wheat grain will be tested for baking quality
