FarmLink Research welcomes two new board members
FarmLink Research is pleased to announce the appointment of Julie Garland McLellan and Amanda Blachut to its Board of Directors, with effect from 1 March.
Welcoming the new appointments to the Board, FarmLink Chair Rob McColl noted their extensive experience across a range of disciplines and their ability to draw on decades of business knowledge.
“Julie has worked across multiple industries including construction, mining, manufacturing and professional services. With over 25 years of board experience, she has served on more than 20 boards and chaired numerous audit committees,” Mr McColl said.
“Amanda has made a huge contribution to regional agribusiness throughout her career in accounting and senior management. She brings a valuable combination of local knowledge and agribusiness expertise to the FarmLink Board.”
FarmLink CEO Shaughn Morgan also praised the appointments, stating, “Julie and Amanda are outstanding additions to the FarmLink Board. Their leadership and expertise will strengthen our organisation and support our mission to advance innovative agricultural research and development.”
Originally from England, Julie holds a degree in Civil Engineering and an MBA. She has held senior management positions including as CEO of a global corporation and now serves on multiple Australian boards.
Amanda is a Certified Practicing Accountant with degrees in Accounting and Information Technology. She has held key financial leadership roles including Finance Manager at Murray Irrigation and CFO and CEO at Intersales.
Mr Morgan added, “FarmLink is a regional not-for-profit with a significant positive agricultural impact upon the farming sector. These appointments reinforce our commitment to delivering cutting-edge agricultural research to our members and farmers generally.”
